In our journey to bring Omni-World Comics to the public, Ja'Vieon and I have been blessed to get tables at a couple of conventions/expos: the Haywood Comic Convention in Brownsville, Tennessee, and later the Memphis Comic Expo in Memphis, Tennessee.
This was the first Haywood Comic-Con and unfortunately Jay was unable to attend, but they already have plans for next year so hopefully we can get a ta
It felt amazing walking into the Haywood Comic-Con and seeing the name of our company on the sign above our table! Attending the convention and the expo proved to be a great learning experience, in addition to meeting other indie creators, professionals, and seeing the amazing cosplayers. Of course I was also happy to see all my friends who came to support us!
Here are pictures of my table setup.
The Memphis Comic Expo was also a great experience and lots of fun as well! We got to see and meet professionals that we're fans of who work in comic books and animation. Pics below!
Here I am at our table at the Expo.
Jay at our table at MCX.
Me and Jay with legendary Marvel Comics artist (and one of my favorite artists to draw Spider-Man) Alex Saviuk!
Me and Jay with Christopher Priest, legendary writer for DC and Marvel Comics, as well as one of the founders of Milestone Comics, one of the most important things to happen in shining a spotlight on African-American and other creators of color.
Mr. Priest also bought copies of Power G and Oneiro!
Me and Jay with Renae Jacobs, the original voice of April O'Neil in the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cartoon!
Me and Josh Keaton, voice of the Spectacular Spider-Man, the Flash, young Hercules and more!
We also got to meet Kevin Eastman, co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Marvel Comics artist Keith Pollard, and Marty Grabstein, voice of Courage the Cowardly Dog!
Mark!
